Steak with Mushrooms

1 pound boneless beef round steak, cut 1 inch thick
2 medium onions, sliced
2 (4 1/2 ounce) jars whole mushrooms, drained
1 (12 ounce) jar beef gravy
1/4 cup dry red wine or apple juice

Trim fat from meat. Cut meat into 4 serving-size pieces. Place onion slices in a 3 1/2 or 4 quart slow cooker. Arrange mushrooms over onions; add meat. In a bowl stir together gravy and wine. Pour over meat.

Cover and cook on LOW for 8 to 10 hours or on HIGH for 4 to 5 hours.

Makes 4 servings.
