Stuffed Peppers & Meat Loaf

6 to 8 green peppers
1 to 2 pounds ground beef
1 onion, chopped
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 egg
1 slice white bread
1 (28 ounce) can whole, or stewed tomatoes

Cut peppers in half and remove seeds.

Combine ground beef, onion, salt, pepper and egg. Tear bread into small pieces. Add to ground beef mixture. Stuff into peppers. Form remaining meat into oblong shape. Place meatloaf and peppers into slow cooker. Pour in tomatoes.

Cover and cook on LOW 8 to 10 hours or on HIGH 4 to 5 hours.

Makes 6-8 servings.
